I loved the quilt I made last month that I decided to add some quilted pillow covers for my living room.

March is a free month for Island Batik ambassadors where we get to choose our project.

I received an absolutely beautiful collection to make the quilt. It is Breezy, a Kate Colleran Original collection.

I made some really big half square triangles. I marked the center line with chalk and stitched on both sides of the line.

Pressing with my new Oliso iron is such a joy.

I trimmed down using my square ruler.

I made 2 different pillows. The border fabric is Blackberry.

I quilted with the same design I made for the quilt last month, with orange thread. Hobbs batting is my batt of choice.

I used gray batik for the backing. This will stabilize the pillow when it is washed.

I love how my Island Batiks quilt!

Good quality batiks really have no issue. I have had some issues with lesser quality fabrics and batiks, but NEVER with Island batiks!

The pillows are super nice! I just recovered the existing pillows that match my beige couch.

Here is a pic of the back of the pillows. The quilting is so pretty.

I added zippers for ease of putting on and off.

The bright colors are really uplifting while we wait for spring and summer.

One thing that I love: This quilt on the back of the couch is something I made over 15 years ago. My new quilt and pillows look fabulous with it. I love Island batiks so very much.

Also, I washed the Mardi Gras quilt from last month and it came out so very cuddly and pretty. I love washed quilts!

One last pic of the quilts and the pillows!

Disclosure: The products featured here were provided to me free of charge by Island Batik,  Oliso Irons and Hobbs heirloom Batting.
